Hell's Gate / Re: Hell's Gate - The Future
« Last post by khurd15 on Fri Sep 26 2014, 07:34 »
Today marks the 6 year anniversary of Hell's Gate premiere. Hard to believe that it's been so long. I really enjoyed working on and writing the two seasons it lasted, and want to thank the loyal fans and the other writers that helped make this show what it was.

With that being said, I think it's time to declare Hell's Gate officially dead. I had always planned on it only lasting three seasons. I regret that I'll not meet that goal, but I just don't have the time, drive, or (let's face it) talent to finish it up, not in a way that I'd be proud of anyway.

Don't fret about season two's cliffhanger though. I plan to post an outline of what I had planned for season three which should answer all your questions. I may also post the season opener which has been written for quite some time, as well as some other scenes which I had planned for the series finale.

Again, thank you all for your support.

The Pitch Hotbed / Re: THE PUNISHER
« Last post by Ian_Austin on Thu Sep 25 2014, 15:24 »
The thing that always grates with me re: Punisher is he never gets his due as Marvel's version of Batman. By which I mean he goes through absolute tragedy, but instead of being destroyed by it he uses it as a means to become a symbol to stop others going through it. The main difference between Castle and Wayne being Wayne still has an idealism, and Castle's lost that - he knows there's no hope for him, that he's the cowboy who saves the day and then can't live in polite society because even a well-intentioned monster is still a monster.

So akin to The Operative from Serenity in that way. Castle has no illusions about what he does. And yet he knows it has to be done. I like the PoI concept, but I'd go a step further and have Punisher be someone who's arc should be being drawn back into the world slowly. Despite knowing it's a mistake, he starts to bond with people and allow weaknesses to form in.

I guess Angel's also a template of sorts here - the idea that some part of Castle knows he can't win, but he's going to keep fighting anyway. Like that brilliant Col Phillips quote from Captain America:

Quote
HYDRA Soldier: Cut off one head, two more shall...
Col. Chester Phillips: [blows him away] Let's go find two more!

That's Punisher to me.

The Pitch Arena / Re: Star Trek: Enterprise ( a reboot )
« Last post by The Stark Knight on Wed Sep 24 2014, 22:48 »
Ok, after some time I have returned to this project and started writing once more.
A couple of changes to be noted are there is now a totally new plot for the pilot, the old plot was based heavily on the plot of the first episode of ENT while as this plot goes in it's own unique direction, focusing on the Kzinti rather than the Klingons with a totally new introduction sequence for the characters.

If you'd like to read what I have so far here's a link {link}

I'll be continuing to write the pilot and posting updates as I do more.

Aw, congratulations JB.

Can he spell anything yet?

Haha!  No not yet.  He says things like "Dada" and "Mama" and he refers to the dogs as "doge".  He knows yes and no, and respond as such if he is asked.  Our favorite football team is the Georgia Bulldogs and he has "Go Dawgs!" down pretty pat.  In fact he says it anytime he sees football on TV.  Which is damn cool.

It's amazing how much has changed and how fast they grow in just one year.
